Enhancing product discovery & app navigation
Identifying the Problem
Shopping for eyewear online is complex. The app’s cluttered navigation and unclear product presentation made discovery and decision-making difficult— leading to low engagement and conversions.
Defining the Goal
To reimagine the experience with a product-first approach that clearly communicates the value of each product or collection, creates a visually immersive interface, and helps users explore with ease.
Research & Key Findings
To understand pain points in browsing and product discovery, we conducted qualitative and quantitative research: User Interviews, Click-Through Rate Analysis of widgets, identifying underperforming sections and user patterns
Navigation Structure
Small, dense widgets overloaded the user with choices
Poor categorisation & hierarchy made browsing inefficient
Lack of personalisation- users had to navigate manually
Interaction Patterns
Horizontal scrolls had low engagement
Larger, bolder widgets outperformed others
Engaged users scrolled deeper into the page with intent
Unclear product value & USP confused users
Lack of visual storytelling around products made discovery harder
Brand terms didn’t align with user search behaviour
Design Process
We redesigned the app feature by feature, focusing on high-impact areas to improve discovery, engagement, and clarity. Each module was iterated with user insights and business goals, allowing continuous improvement without a full overhaul.
Pre Home: Start Screen
FEATURE 3
As features were added, we introduced a focused entry screen to guide users based on intent.
Pre-Home was designed to surface relevant paths to align with user intent and enable personalised content to add structure to the journey and improve discoverability.
Phase 1
Phase 2
Each modular intervention—Reels, Stories, Tabs and Pre-Home—was a step toward reimagining the homepage. By observing user behaviour and layering features, we evolved the layout and hierarchy to reduce cognitive load, improve relevance, and guide users more intuitively through the app.
